We are happy to announce that The Midwest Islet Club (MIC) will hold its third annual meeting at the Wells Center for Pediatric Research (Joseph E. Walther Hall) at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN, from Wednesday, May 26th through Thursday May 27th, 2010. We will be updating this site with more information on the agenda of scientific sessions and social activities.
About the Conference
The goal is to foster greater communication between pancreatic beta cell biology investigators within the region. The meeting will be composed of both senior and junior investigators, with a decided focus towards students, postdocs and newly independent investigators serving as speakers. Both speaker and poster presentations will be selected from the abstracts received by the March 12, 2010 deadline.
Dr. Barbara E. Corkey
There will be a banquet on Thursday evening, including a plenary talk in memory of Dr. Paul Lacy-the Lacy Medal Lecture. This year's Lacy Medal Lecture will be given by Dr. Barbara E. Corkey. Dr. Corkey is Vice-Chair for Research, Professor of Medicine and Biochemistry, and Director of the Obesity Research Center at Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA.
